Thoughts on yesterday's ride:
- Beautiful. It is probably the most scenic part of the trail that we have been on so far. Start in Connellsville and go south into Ohiopyle. You're under a canopy of trees most of the way and the Yough River runs alongside.
- After seven weeks of training runs on the rails-to-trails route it will be hard to return to highway riding. You get used to an almost level path, no cars, terrific scenery, friendly fellow bikers. It's the only way to go.
- Cell phone use is scattered. My Sprint phone was only working about 30% of the whole trip.
- The only thing more scattered than cell phone service are toilet facilities along this section. Be prepared.
Our ride boosted our confidence. It was just weeks ago that 30 miles in a day was a milestone.
Now, we are confident can at least two a few days out of the six riding the full 60 miles.
Until then..keep the rubber side down and get off the trail by 8:00 p.m.
